Welcome to episode one of notsecondclassdads.ca

I’m family lawyer and mediator Scott Taylor. If you a father concerned about the loss of your relationship with your children because of separation or divorce and feel that the legal system doesn’t acknowledge or value your relationship with your children, this podcast will provide you with the information and advice that can help protect and preserve that relationship.

I’m certain you’ve heard of a so-called pole, which ranks the most fearful and stressful events in someone’s life. Death and public speaking apparently in no particular order commonly topped the list. But I think if you were to ask a father, there is a far more stressful event which would top that list, namely, the risk of a loss of your relationship with your children.

It’s not on the list because no father expects it will happen, of course, until it does. And when it does, the emotional and psychological impact can be devastating and regretfully for many such fathers, the stress and trauma are magnified by a complex and costly family law system, which many believe unfairly devalues their relationship with their children.

I will be speaking over the course of these podcasts with various professionals, both legal and mental health professionals to help you better understand not only the importance of your relationship with your children, but how best to protect it.

I have always believed as a family lawyer and father, that it is not important who possesses the couch following separation or divorce, but rather protecting the most important asset of all, and that’s preserving the relationship with your children.

And I firmly believe that children need and deserve the care, love, and attention of both parents. So, brace yourself because you will be hearing in this podcast information which will completely change how you have approached protecting your relationship with your children, because after all, if you were taking all the right steps and your relationship was firm, and secure, and enduring, you wouldn’t need to be listening.

So, until the next episode, I wish you the best, Stay listening, notsecondclassdads.ca
